An unexpected career - Stephanie’s road to Insify

Stephanie

When Stephanie, one of our Strategy Consultants, studied mathematics and physics, she hadn’t exactly planned entering the insurance industry. Until one day, an opportunity came along.

"During my studies, an insurance company approached my university offering summer jobs. I was looking for work, so I gave it a try. I had no idea it would turn into a career. Eventually, that company offered me a full-time role. I took that challenge, but it turned out that in big insurance companies, everything is already set up. You can’t change much. Where in a startup, you create something from nothing. That’s why I came to Insify. And now somehow I've been in insurance all my working life, haha."

Learning by doing

At Insify, taking ownership of projects is key. Stephanie quickly realized that Insify’s approach to work matched her own.

During the hiring process, Insify was very transparent about what to expect. And when I joined, I saw that everything they told me was true. You have full autonomy here. You own your work, and if something goes well, great. If it doesn’t, you learn and adjust. I love that. Of course, we’re striving for perfection, but true growth comes from pushing boundaries. When you try something new, especially something that hasn’t been done before in the industry, there’s never a 100% success rate. Mistakes happen, but they’re a crucial part of learning and developing your skills. The key is to take those lessons forward.

Office strategy

More than strategy

At Insify we move fast, and adapting to change is part of the job.

"Things move quickly here. One day, you’re heading in one direction, and the next, new insights come in, and you pivot. It was overwhelming at first, but now I like the challenge. It keeps things interesting. My role requires working across different departments, aligning different perspectives. You have to learn how to bring people together to move projects forward. Next to a strategy consultant, I’m sometimes also a project manager and negotiator."

To new joiners

For those considering a career at Insify, Stephanie has one key piece of advice: bring your energy.

“If you want to make an impact, be valued for your ideas, and work in an environment that challenges and supports you, this is the place to thrive.”
